The poem was written by Dorothy Gray and appears in the 1984 Friendship Book. It came to me via our local church St. Bernard’s magazine. I’m very fond of poetry but not so fond of irresponsible dog owners but I have to say in the main they are behaving themselves locally these days. Not so the litter louts who have left their evidence recently. More on that later.

Not so the dog owners who left a calling card outside Hamstead J. when we went to the nativity there.Sure its been there since last year!!Happy Christmas to you and t'missus and remember-true recycling is using your litter Asda bag to pick up your dog poo.
Nice one Margaret, it's the litter louts at the moment who get chips etc from top or bottom chip shop and finish their meal just outside my door. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Happy Christmas chuck
But where are the litter police when you need them? Simple booking people for feeding the ducks! What a load of quackers!!
The misses thinks I'm quakers writing to myself almost every day
